Treat yourself to this delightful Piña Colada Protein Smoothie – it’s like a mini vacation in a glass!
With fiber from the pineapple and a solid serving of protein, you’ll be supporting your body with the building blocks it needs to stay healthy and thriving while sipping on a sweet taste of Summer!
Along with fiber, the pineapple in this recipe is a great source of vitamin C (1), plus it’s high in antioxidants (that support our cellular health). It also contains the enzyme bromelain which is anti-inflammatory. It has been shown to have beneficial effects on digestion, as well as helping with joint pain and stiffness (2).
I also added unsweetened coconut water to this smoothie not just because I love the way it tastes with the pineapple, but also because it’s high in natural electrolytes. It contains minerals like magnesium, potassium and calcium – all of which can support proper fluid balance within your cells, and regulate nerve and muscle function (3).
I love this delicious and easy blend (especially post workout) and I know that you will too! It’s giving tropical vacation vibes without even having to leave the house!
